What part of it is taking a long time?

Is it already in windows 7 but before logging in?

Did you update the bios or something? (don't update to 206, weird stuff going on)

Also, bad drives or RAM can cause weird effects. That's actually part of POST, they just don't show you the post screen.

Someone tell me if there's a way to show it, even temporarily.

206 is the latest version, you are fine, I've been using 206 stable and pretty sure all new G73s will be shipping with 206

No problem with 206 bios here. I get 15 second bootup times with 206, W7U and an intel SSD.

I don't know what to tell you because we can't see the post screen. You could ask asus but I doubt they'll be helpful.

Do you have anything added to the G73JH? USB devices... drives?

Got same thing on my G51J-A1 when one of the two hard drives became full of bad sectors. When the hard drive really died the notebook was stuck at logo for hours and will never boot.

Thats what I thought, but a bad hard drive off the bat? yowzers.

at least you don't need to send the entire computer back in.

Check the drives on a desktop if you can

I've seen USB devices cause issues, is it only the mouse (try another device on the same port)

No it just means the mouse has a bug in its firmware.

Just plug it in after it's POSTed. :)

I found that turning off / uninstalling "Asus Fancystart" got rid of my terrible long boot time.
