This machine is being advertised as supporting 16GB RAM.

However, according to Intel's specs, only the Core i7 Extreme variations support over 8 GB of RAM. Didn't find this note in the main thread.

    Did I miss something?

The Precision m6400 and m6500 both support 16 gigs of ram and still is the only stable machine too work with that much amount of ram. I believe it can handle up to 12 gigs of ram talking about the g73jh-a1. The M6500 can go up to core i7 extreme.

If you're worried about being able to use more than 8GB of memory there is a good chance your getting the extreme proc anyway.
