Well about 3 weeks with my lappy and a problem arises. The 720 is having core parking problems. Not turboed the cpu has from 3 to 4 cores parked. Called service they will have a more knowlegdeable tech call me back. My belief is that there is either a voltage problem, heat problem(both fans seem to be working) or the chip is failing. Has anyone else have this problem. my power settings are on high performance.

Parked as in?

Yeah, not sure what this means. I'll test mine out once I know what to look for...lol
edit 1: Just did a quick search about it and starting to read up on it. Here's the link for those interested:

edit 2: Here's some more info I found that may fix the problem:

Didn't try it yet.
Just confirmed that 4 out of the 8 cores are "parked." I'm sure it's to conserve battery or what not. In the link I provided, they tell you how to enable all the cores.
edit 3: Confirmed that fix works. -

I don't suppose someone can show me how to edit the registry. I found the registry key, and I can see both the ValueMax ValueMin items, but how exactly do I change them?
Nevermind, saw how to cahnge the Hexadecimal notation -

I am about to burn a BR disc with my G73JH so I'll see if 0 parked cores helps in my burn time.

Get to a command prompt, and type regedit to get to Windows Registry Editor. Click on edit, then find, and paste the below into the find box.

To the right of the screen, it's talking about your parked cores, and their percentages. ValueMax is at 0x00000064 (100), while ValueMin is at 0x00000000 (0). To get the values to match, rightclick on ValueMax and change the hex from 64 to 00. That changes (100) to (0). Now ValueMax and ValueMin match.
EDIT: You may have to repeat the steps two more times. That code was in there three times for me. -
