    Hi,

I haven't been on here in a little under 2 years, I recently did some snooping around as I am planning on opening my system up and cleaning out the fans and doing a re-paste (CPU & GPU). I am planning on using ICD 7. I have found one video on youtube:

Asus G73JH/JW/SW disassembly, GPU repasting - YouTube

I wanted to know if there were any other picture/guides i should follow or any better information I should have before going into this. I am technically inclined (Mechanical & Aerospace Engineer). Just looking for any heads up or anything obvious I might have overlooked. I'm also not sure how much compound I should order/need for the processor/gfx paste job.

    Thanks!

I just looked through it all and it all looks great. I wanted to know if there was anything about repasting the cpu? or is that something i shouldn't get myself into?

You will void your warranty if you repaste your CPU. However, if you want to do it, looks for Daller's tutorial on hot to install a 920xm. Skip the part where the CPUs are swapped, removing the heatsink and repasting are the same for the 720/740qm and 920xm.

With your technical skills this should be super easy. Just be careful you don't strip the cables of the metal connectors, I stripped a bit on one of mine and just had to snip it a bit to fix that.

Also be careful with some of the plugs/connectors (not sure what to call them. I'm sure you know some flip up. I was 2nd person to attempt a repaste a g73jh on this forum, last year and didn't realize that, and almost broke one before realizing had to flip it up :D
