I ordered my G73JH-A2 through New-egg and ordered the ASUS Black 4.8X BD-ROM 8X DVD-ROM 24X CD-ROM USB External External Slim BD Combo Model SBC-04D1S-U - Retail. I was hoping there was a notebook drive in the housing and there was. I took apart the Blu-ray drive and change out the face plate (Prefect Fit) and replace the DVD Super Multi Drive with the Asus blu-ray drive (15 to 20 min) Works great and now I have a G73JH-A1 for only 169.00 more.

That's ! But isn't the A2 just as sold out as the A1's? Not sure this buys us without the laptop with any option hah!

    But cool none the less!

Yes countless times if you want to read over 500 post of single line info. all Im saying is you can buy the Asus SBC-04D1S-U | External Blu-Ray Drive
and inside the housing you will find a notebook drive that will fit prefectly in our brand new Asus G73 for the price of 169.

Take it a part and replace the DVD drive in side of our Asus G73s and enjoy

Dont be a hater lol just trying to give users easy to find info instead of looking for hours for options

Good find, I wouldn't have thought about doing that. You can get an internal Blu for these systems from the re-sellers right now for a pretty good price. They have some in stock to change A2's into A1's.

Probably a little bit cheaper than this method, but good job!
