My issue is that during BC2 my laptop keeps crashing. Requiring a hard reset. It has only happened during multi-player and when it happens the image of what i was doing stays on screen and I do a hard reset. Around the time of the crash the amd gpu clock tool was reporting that it hit 101.5C. Thinking it was a heat issue I bought a can of air and got the dust out of the vents. Lo and behold it still crashes. I just tried calling Asus and they told me "Battlefield: bad company 2 isn't compatible with the unit because it wasn't designed for it." Which is a load of bull. So here I am with a gaming laptop that can't play the games I want to play. It has so far done fine on source games. After the dusting I'm seeing temps of 63 idle and 89 under load. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Those temps are still very high unfortunately, a heavy battle can make them spike up to 100 and cause a thermal shutdown. You need to do a repaste. You need to be idling 50 and maxing 74-81.

When you say dusting do you meaning using compressed air?
If not that is your best bet first of all before repasting otherwise that is your only option.
Sadly poor application of the stock compound, degregation or the heatsink caused many problems with the cooling on the JH. Easily fixed with a blob of IC Diamond however.
Did Asus really say that their High End gaming laptop when BC2 was released was not made for it? ahahahahahaha I know they have some idiots there but seriously, classic.
My temps at stock were 105oC on the MEM(IO) First repaste with ICD 84oC with Furmark running for 15 minutes across the board. Repasting is a worthwhile attempt with the JH with good results coming from the majority, but if it is the heatsink clearance you may need to attempt compressing the thermal pads to reduce the clearance to the DIE or use 1mm (thinner) pads + a repaste. -
I used compressed air and I got a lot of dust out. I'm not comfortable enough with attempting a repaste myself... what can I say to get asus to do it for me?

Call back and try not to get 'Dave' who also cleans the floors on the weekend. -

What appears to be happening is quite possibly that your GPU is overheating. I would recommend having a tech service the unit. Can you PM me you name, address, city, state, zip, serial number of notebook. This way I can check if there is a local ASP available and setup an RMA with them, or you can have it come to me here @ HQ and I can check the unit.
Your service case # is 1582422.
