Hi, I am new here and have never owned a laptop. I am thinking about buying the Asus G73JH-B1, my question is it comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit I have a brand new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. When I get the laptop would I be able to just sick the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit disks in a reformat it or would it mess the laptop up? and if I can just stick the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit in and reformat should I have the GPU drivers on a thumb drive to put in or will it auto update. Also what other drivers should / updates should I know about to install after a reformat?

    Thank You,
    Scott

You can stick it in and reformat with it, then afterwards install the drivers from the disc and update them as needed for that version of windows if applicable.

upgrading from home to ultimate, i guess, doesnt need a reformat.. you'll just put the code and windows will do it for you... you'll not lose any files or programs... it will just add the features... but since its new... a reformat would be nice and for you to remove bloatwares.. and yes you need a copy of the drivers... there are links here in the forums where it will let you download all drivers together... also.. just make sure to update all of it to the latest... reading sticky thread would be really helpful for new owners...
