    Greetings everyone,

I have recently purchased G73JH-B1 and when i play FFXIV on resolution 1680x1050 the game
doesnt crash but when i use 1920x1080 my screen blinks in black then suddenly turns black and the sound hangs
is the solution for this issue is the same as GSOD bios flash ?

    Thanks in advance :)

Yes, it sounds like the GSOD bug.

Flash your vBIOS per the instructions given here on the site, then update to the 10.8 Mobility drivers.

There's always a risk in the process Jacob, just like flashing your BIOS.

As for the order, you can keep 10.8 on if you would like, but I would recommend a clean driver install.

My guess you are suffering GSOD. Some units can work with stock vBIOS and 10.8 and perform excelent in games. Some others (as mine one) are stable in windows with 10.8 but in game suffer gsod. Just go the the sticky thread about the blues screen and follow the instructions.

In addition, if you are already in 10.8, you dont need to uninstall it. But is always secure do a clean installation (removing all traces of older drivers) after the vBIOS update. As you read, this last is not mandatory but recommended (by me  ).

I have the same issue as Nekki. IF I use Catalyst 10.8, and the old vBIOS, I get a crash. SO I use Catalyst 10.7 and it works just fine! NO crashes.

    I recommend either

    A) Update your vBIOS to the ones in the GSOD thread.

    or

    B) Downgrade to Catalyst 10.7

I just experienced this yesterday, I also removed my Anti-virus software (AVG), since I had just installed it and wanted to make sure it wasn't contributing to the problem. I need more testing to be sure.
