Okay so while i was in the forums talking about putting a 6990 into my asus i then stumbled across a couple of members who told me i could upgrade my laptop from 900p to 1080p by switching the actual lcd. So *lightbulb on* i want to do the upgrade seeing as most games look a lot more clearer on 1080p. The only problem with this is im not very laptop hardware fluent which kills me cause i can assemble a desktop with my eyes closed.

But before we get started i dont know where to even start such as parts/guides etc.

So i was wondering if you (the beautiful people of the notebook forums community) can help me in finding out all the info!?! I am trying to research it myself but im not getting much luck

And if there are any of you who have already done this upgrade i have a few questions for you!
    1. Was the upgrade worth it and did you see any performance decreases
    2. How hard was it and how expensive was it to do this upgrade
    3. Is gaming better on 1080p or 900p

Thanks in advance to the community :D hopefully we can get all the info together and make this a sticky for all g73jh best buy model owners :D

if theres any other info needed from the laptop i will be more then glad to give it out

Dont bother, if you had done it 6 months ago fine but if you intend to keep the 5870M then 900p is better off. The screen may not be great but considering the worth of the laptop you would probably be forking out nearly 20% of its worth just to upgrade the screen and it wont dent the resale price.

Stick with it because in 6 months time when the new NM hits the scene you wont care about it.

Yep, but Yiddo is right : 1920*1080 screen will give you a really ugly look at 1600*900 ( worst than before for sure ) , so you'll have to stick to FullHD resolution to play games.

And you'll loose huge performance on demanding games.
