Alright so I bought this thing last week after I was convinced I needed a desktop replacement. Whether or not that was true, I had convinced myself it was.
So, after experiencing two GSOD's last week prior to flashing I was skeptical about how this was going to work for me... I should have done more reading before buying, but who does that anyway? Well, certainly not compulsive people like myself.
Anyway, after the flash of the vBIOS everything was smooth sailing. I was still skeptical about how this would work at a LAN party when there is likely going to be a lot higher room temperatures and a larger load on the computer (we game hard).
Suffice to say, it was an incredible time. Not one single problem and my temperatures on the GPU didn't hit anything in excess of 85C in a room with an ambient temperature of 30C.
What an amazing time, and what a great laptop. This thing has exceeded my expectations and I am quite a happy buyer.
I hope everyone else out there enjoys their machine as much as I do![]()
Hit me up on Steam, I game often: neoclerodane

Glad you are happy with your purchase. What games do you own/play on steam.
-
Thanks! I am quite happy.
I play a lot of the following:
L4D (Steam)
L4D2 (Steam)
Unreal Tournament 3 (Steam)
Modern Warfare 2 (non-steam) -
Say what? -
Is it a steam game?
I purchased it at WalMart, so I didn't get it from Steam itself. -
yup... everytime I got to a LAN party, it takes a few minutes to get thru the gawkers wanting to peek and play with this thing
Usually everyone is surprised and what all it has. Only had one person poo-poo it in favor of an Alienware, but he paid WAY more than I did so I don't care.

Yeah I know what you mean. I had one person say "a laptop?!" and I told him that it was better than anything he had in his computer and he stopped.
I have to say, I used to be one that thought there is no such thing as gaming on a laptop. Unless you don't care about pretty graphics. Not anymore. -
has anybody around here played Alien Swarm on Steam? Its cool and its free... let me know if anyone feels like playing

Cause if you are Europe, i dont think i could play with you, but you sound like you could be in Australia.
It's about 30C now.
Currently playing TF2, BFBC2, and upcoming bug ridden BO. Might be playing SC2 actively now.
One more thing, is anyone interested to have a Asus G-Series Steam group on Steam? -
