I have a G73JW-3DE since December and it plays and runs games great. Just today I notice that it was lagging in game. It runs smoothly and then just lags for a bit then runs smoothly again then lags for a bit. I try to play Star Craft 2 on lowest settings but the lag is still there. Has anyboyd known about this issue and how to resolve it. Thank you.

It happens in every single game I try now. Everything runs smoothly for about five seconds and then lag, and then run smoothly for five seconds and then lag again. I will try to upgrade momentus XT firmware. Also there is lag when I play blu-ray movies now too.

I don't really understand these directions at all.

First i download the seagate updater ISO
    here is the link:
    http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/s...T-ALL-SD24.iso
burn the iso to a dvd and go to bios by pressing del , ajust boot sequence to use dvd.
When you get promped with a menu press control +c.
Run this command to force the update:
    fdl487a -m anak -f ansqsd24.lod -i st95005620as -s -x -b -v -a 20
It worked here and both hdds are working fine, no corrupted data

I burn the iso onto a CD and boot from the CD. It takes me to the readme and I read the warnings and everything. I can't get out of the readings except by press Ctrl+C. When I do that it takes me to a menu. When I press Ctrl+C on the menu, it says something like batch and terminate, with options "yes "no" "All". I type in the fdl487a -m anak -f ansqsd24.lod -i st95005620as -s -x -b -v -a 20 but nothing happen. I type dir and it shows me a bunch of stuff and then numbers next to them. And when I type dir I do see fdl487a as exe.

Seagate has a Windows Updater for SD25 that doesn't even need a CD. You run it and reboot. It will run at Startup and flash the drives.

Try disabling core parking. I had a similar problem in general usage with my G60JX (my G73 doesn't seem to have the problem) and it'd have lag/microstutters every few seconds due to the cores parking and unparking themselves. Worth a try.

YEah I've never seen core parking have a noticeable effect on an i7, but I do turn it off on AC anyway because I can.

Lags that big usually come from slow peripherals...

Anyway here's a link about putting the core parking settings into the power management settings: How to adjust Core Parking from inside Windows 7. Doesn't hurt to try.

Thank you all. I fix it. It was not my hardrive. After I updated to SD25, i still recieve lag. It was not core parking. After I done it still nothing. The problem were the new Nividia Drivers I download. 270.61. They cause lag. I did a clean reinstall of windows and started playing starcraft 2 just fine. After I update drive it lag. I did system restore to roll back to old driver everything perfect now.

One thing that has been bugging me and i can't seem to fix it is the Battery Mode. When I play game without the power plug it lags horrible. I've search te forums but can't really find how to fix it.

    1) I play Starcraft 2 with 270.61 with no lagging.

    2) You need to change PowerPay settings in CCC to prevent throttling of GPU while on battery.

    @ Chastity

Bit off topic, but which in your opinion, is your favourite? The JH or the JW? You've used both for a while now and I can assume you have a clear winner between them? :D

At stock I prefer the JH. With overclocks, the G73SW with 850/1450 OC is kinda sweet, but the G73JH is nice for my Dragon Age 2 gameplay.

I have found the issue as to why I receive lag in games. Its my Hardrive. I have the Momentus Hybrid drive model number ST950005620AS. I unistall starcraft and install it into my 2nd hardrive, ST9500420AS, and everything runs smoothly now. What firmware do you guys have on your hybrid drive? SD24, or SD25. I updated to SD25 and still lag.

I have SD25 and I don't see any game lag. What SATA drivers are you using?
