I recently purchased a G73JW which requires a gpu reball.

I can't say I'm particularly skilled with a soldering gun though. The last time I had a soldering gun in my hand, I balled a MX-era processor. That didn't turn out so well...

I'm thinking about just removing the stock 460M and replacing it with another a 460M or something higher. From what I know, all of the J series runs on the same MXM board. Would a 560/660/670/680 (pulled from an alienware, clevo, or something else) work with the G73JW's mobo?

you just need to replace the gpu thats it , reballing is waste of time .
a gtx 560 would go for 90$ , get it and get back to game.
