Well, I have gotten 3 BSOD errors since receiving this laptop. I expect to get more. Luckily I purchased this from Amazon and they are willing to send out a replacement overnight.

Am I overreacting or should I take advantage of the Amazon policy and ask for the replacement? What would you guys do?

I would take a replacement. There's no reason for BSODs out of the box. Although I personally can usually fix them or at least diagnose them, BSODs are still unacceptable to me. I use my machine for everything and I expect it to work, especially for $2000+ :)

I would certainly ask for a replacement.. You should not have to troubleshoot a brand new machine right out of the box .. Might be a bad stick of RAM etc but yeah why bother if they have such a good policy in place ..

Thanks guys. I felt the same way. First one, I was like ok. Second one...I just shook my head, Third one, picked up the phone. They were resistant to send out the laptop at first before they received my current one, then they agreed. It was overnighted and I should have it in 1 day. They also gave me a full 30 days to return my current one. Great Customer service. I think going thru asus would be a different story. Anyway I will see how the new one does. I think it should be fine. Once I get a stable one, it will be a keeper.

BTW, the first thing I did when I got my current one was make the backup 7 dvd set. Would you guys restore with this set before sending it in or format the drive? I just want to get rid of some of the software I loaded up on it.

How long have you've had it? Good luck getting a good replacement.

Thanks. I had it less than a week. I feel pretty confident on the replacement being in good shape. Otherwise, I have the option of continuing the replacement process until I get a good one. The beauty of Amazon.

Amazon was really great for replacing my G73JW too, even when ASUS wouldn't RMA it.
