G73JW took a tumble. The screen... isn't right. What's up with that?

That's right, it took a tumble, but the screen didn't break. The display is just all out of whack. When the screen is all black like when displaying the Asus or Windows logos on start-up, I get all kinds of red on the screen. Other colors are all messed up, and like when I am viewing notebookreview forums, the lighter colored boxes "flicker". Text is harder to read and images just look terrible now. Output over HDMI is normal, leading me to believe the video card is fine.

I've taken apart the body of the laptop and performed a full disassembly/reassembly of the body to look for a loose connection, but no luck.

Is there anything behind the screen/panel that might be loose? I have not taken the top part of the notebook apart yet.

Here are some pics of what it looks like. Due to the flickering and different problems with different colors, you'd have to see it (or I'd have to make a video) to see what I'm talking aboot.

Notice the ghosting of the windows logo on the far sides of the screen:

What do? I don't want to pour money into it as I've already ordered a G750JH.

You can take off the cover without taking the machine apart IIRC. So yes, first thing to check.

Fixed it! Took the panel apart and went over all the connections in the back. Nothing looked or felt loose, but I gave everything a good jiggering and a firm reseating. Good to go.

But still, not going to cancel my G750JH order :D

Don't blame you! That lvds connector is quite finiky.

    Welcome. That was easy.
On forum it is common to add rep to the one who found and helped to fix it. Me and Meaker are already max repped users and don't need it anymore but just remember to thank other non-maxed reputable members if they gave you very useful suggestion which helped you in the future ;)

Got it. Found the rep button.

I'll leave the pics up in case anyone else in the future has a similar problem.
