Hi Everybody. First of all thanks for all the valuable information I found in this forum ;)

I'm looking for a powerfull laptop since a while that would be more a replacement of my desktops. I'm very interested in the G73 models and don't know yet if I'll go to 3D or not (as I saw TV that are 3D that do not need glasses and what about OLED screens?)

I have some questions for which I did not find answer (I browsed lot of pages in this forum... but they are tooooo many! :)

    So here are my questions:
I live in Brussels (Belgium - Europe) and would be interested to buy from US (Gentch, Xoticpc), but I'm used to have an AZERTY keyboard even if I can use a QWERTY. Would it be possible to order in US and have already an AZERTY one installed?

I saw that some website allows to configure 3 HD on the G73 models, is it possible to order one with 2 HD and have the "frame" or whatever piece allowing to install the third HD in place of the optical drive? Would you have also a case so that when I remove the optical, it can be used as an external BluRay drive?

If we use SSD drives instead of HD ones, would the battery of the G73 last "much" longer or any idea how much 1h30 instead of 1h?)?

Would you recommend to remove the battery from the laptop while using it on the power?

I see that a second battery is propsed on websites, is it possible to charge the battery without having it inside of the laptop?

If on deplacement the first battery needs to be changed, can we replace the battery without stopping the laptop? (kind of hot swapable?)

Now... my last question would be: as next year (that's in some weeks...) Intel launches their new processors with Sanbridge, is it worth waiting these new processor that seems to cossume less power, would it mean that the battery on an equivalent laptop configuration would last longer? Any idea?

Thanks a lot in advance for your answers

Yes. HD Caddy / Replacement DVD caddy is a good place to start looking for answers about this.

There is less power consumption for an SSD, but it is debatable whether or not you get real power savings. Especially on a machine like the g73.

That depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

If you have an appropriate charging station, yes. Otherwise, no.

If it is plugged in, yes.

Probably not. TDW is about the same.

Thanks Tomcat57, just found that you moved my questions here (didn't know how to find them back ;) )

    Thanks DCx for your reply.

By the way... now I'm looking for the G73SW as I read in this forum that it can have up to (+)3h of autonomy... so looks like the Sandy Bridge not only cosumes much less but an I7-2630QM should be as powerfull (or even more) than an I7-940XM ( Mobile Processors - Benchmarklist - Notebookcheck.net Tech)
