I have been having Windows 7 freezing problem and I reinstalled the OS. Problem went away for 2 months and now is back. It would freeze as soon as it boots up or freeze a couple of minutes after.
Also, i have had this CPU fan issue for a while now. Its always on. I cant even detect it in HWINFO64. GPU is there but not CPU. All temp seems ok but CPU fan is always on even when Im on battery saving mode.
I suspect the freezing problem is a hardware issue so I bought the SSD just in case. Now, where should I look for this CPU and possibly persistent freezing issue? Why isn't CPU fan speed detected anywhere?

    CPU fan issue:
    -I sprayed the vent
    -updated from hwinfo32 to hwinfo64
    -ran virus and malware scan

    Freezing
    -All temps checked ok
    -reinstalled the OS
    -tried different power2gear settings

Check to see if CPU fan is still always on in the BIOS, it could be the bad sensor on the mainboard. if the sensor is bad then the mainboard will need to be replace.

I checked the bios and there was not a fan settings. I restored to default anyway. The fan doesnt just stay on all the time but when its all most of the times its at max...cpu temp is not even that hot. not gaming or anything. mostly browsing activity.

I believe GentechPC meant - go into BIOS and see if the fan keeps running. If it does (and since Hwinfo does not detect it) I would agree that the sensor may be faulty.

If both the GPU and CPU fan are the same I'd say swap them. If they are similar but not the same try taking them out and plugging them into the other connector. It could be the fan RPM/PWM control could be bad. But its a quick way to see if its only a fan.

Did you open the ram door and blow air in that direction. That helped me with a over heating problem. Fan was always on trying to cool the cpu.
