    Hello,
I have had the laptop for a month. Screen flicker (prevents use, open windows would bend and flash, other icons would flash on and off) than black screen appears and than desktop appears with the error (Nvidia display driver stopped responding & recovered) in the bottom right corner. It appears after surfing the net (mozilla/explorer/google chrome) watching video or gaming (software installed: vlc, Norton 2011 Internet Security, mozilla, spybot, chrome and WOW). I updated the driver via the ASUS website - did not solve it.
What I have done so far in an attempt to fix: first-updated adobe flash and installed from NVIDIA driver 266.35; result screen flicker, computer would lock up, black screen than driver recovered. Second-reinstalled OS (Windows 7 64 bit) and all drivers provided by ASUS; result screen flicker and etc. Third-reinstalled OS again, updated BIOS to 203 dated 11/2010 and downloaded NVIDIA driver 261.14 from ASUS support site; result screen flicker and etc. Fourth-installed NVIDIA driver 266.35 and flash; result screen flicker. Fifth-via driver sweeper in safe mode removed ATI dislplay and all references to NVIDIA; result in VGA mode no screen flicker under same use case as previous 4 attempts to fix. I have read via NVIDIA forums regarding driver issues with the Nvidia GTX 460M Graphics with 1.5GB GDDR5. I kindly request anyone's assistance to try to resolve. I cannot return to store, since I've had the laptop for a month now. Used it for a week - no problems, on-travel for a few weeks and upon my return this issue has prevented me from using. Thanks in advance.

    I would suggest 2 things:

    1) See driver's reference link in sig to d/l Asus 265.66
    2) Update your DirectX to June 2010 Redist package
