    Hello everyone,

First of all I would like to thank the people on this board for providing loads of useful information, before and after buying the notebook all the stuff posted really helped me solve a few small things :) However, there are a few things that are making me "curious".

I bought a G73JW-A1 in Amazon.ca, and made a fresh Win 7 install, almost everything seems to be working well, I absolutely love my new notebook, but there are a few problems:

The most "annoying" issue is the fact that it seems that maybe I have the missed keystroke issue, but it's nothing serious at all, I type quite fast so I'm not really sure if the very few missed keystrokes I have are my mistake or a problem with the keyboard itself but, when playing games there is a noticeable keyboard and, most important, a strange MOUSE lag, like there is a problem with the input mixed up with sluggish mouse sensivity, the keyboard also has a small delay. For the moment I have tested two games, GTA IV ( when trying to steer the car the lag is very noticeable, and to aim the gun it's just a nightmare ) however, since I know that GTA IV PC isn't really known for working well and not causing headaches I installed Mass Effect, but then the issue still exists, only much smaller. I've tried different mouses, messing around with configurations everywhere, installing drivers for the ROG mouse, different USB ports, but nothing really changed.

Soooo maybe it's my BIOS version? The notebook came with the 202 version, but since all the rest seems to be working really well including the temps ( at least I think, CPU idling at about 53C, 81C under load, GPU idles 50C and reaches about 82C after hours of gaming in a very hot summer environment of 25~30C with high air humidity ) I'm not sure if I should take the risk of updating it to 205 since I haven't seen anybody here with the exact issue I'm having, specially after researching I found out that some users even had severely raised temps with the new BIOS I don't know why. If you have updated to 205 has it happened to you? *scared like a little kid* :(

There is a pack posted by Chastity that includes specific drivers and the 205 BIOS needed to fix the keyboard issues that most users are having, the BIOS is the only thing left for me to try, if I have to update the BIOS, are there any guides that tell you how to do so in steps or any observations specific for the JW? I'm mostly worried about bricking the notebook or killing the keyboard backlights ( there isn't a fix that is guaranteed to work for everyone until now as I know ) since it's been bought in Canada but is now with me in Brazil. For the moment the only thing I know after some research is that the biggest reason why most users brick the computer is by using a flash drive formatted as NTFS to update the BIOS.

I'm sorry for the long text, but I don't think I could be more straightfoward than that, I had to say all these details. :p

    Thanks,

    Erik

    Uninstall Synaptics if you're desperate.
