    Hi,

I have only had this laptop for a few days, and over the last two the left-side fan(CPU side?) is revving up to what I assume is full power somewhat randomly albeit consistently. The air coming out is barely even warm(except when gaming), and neither is anything else.

    Clarification:
-When running programs(or even just one) it will start and stop every few minutes. The "sped-up" periods are longer than the slowed ones.
-When idle with no running programs it's a similar story.
-When I close everything, it will calm down after a short delay but pick up again either after a few minutes or when I start a program.

Note: The programs can be anything from Chrome to Steam to a taxing game.

I have the latest drivers (except the BIOS upgrade, I heard it screwed over a few things. Should I try downloading that, or is it completely unrelated?) and have reinstalled any that I thought may have helped, but this started happening before I downloaded the latest frivers, anyway. Another thing is that the keyboard area is much hotter after leaving the lid closed for a while than it is even while running games. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it...

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm not really inclined to spend 4 hours uploading a video, and I don't know how much more detail I can give...

Fan gets loud, air coming out isn't hot, laptop isn't hot. That's about the extent of it.

Run a Hardware monitor while you are working and record the CPU temps and fan RPM speeds to a log file. Post some numbers so we can evaluate.

HWINFO32 can monitor rpm speeds. make note when the fans speed up with cpu temps. If it's consistant, maybe your cpu is running hot and needs attention. If it's sporadic, then maybe the sensor is fubar.

chasity you have everything in the video :)
on all 4 cores temperature (normal temperature)
fan speed everything just point your eyes in the right corner :)

i didn't monitored with hwinfo becouse of the small text...so the camera could not register that

Forgive my ignorance, but where do I find the fan speeds? I can see the GPU fan's RPM, but not the CPU side.

Also, what program do I open the logs with?

Just quickly: the CPU temps remain between 36 and 46 C (~100 - 114 F), mostly in the low 40's. The temperatures appear to fluctuate completely independent of the fan speed.

Edit: This is just general use. Only Chrome, Windows explorer and HWiNFO32 running.

That's where I found the previously mentioned statistics. There are no "CPU fan" numbers.
