Well the problem is my fault really as when I was using disk management in Windows 7 to re size and delete partitions thanks to factory install, I accidentally highlighted the recovery partition and deleted it.

On the bright side of things I do have the recovery discs for it burned but recovery can't load due to no partition recovery being found.

Any ideas what I should do guys? Is there any way I can get the partition put back perhaps by someone sending me the data and teaching me how to dump it in to the c:?

This has been frustrating as hell for me.

    Thanks for your time gentlemen.

You may be able to recover it with TestDisk - CGSecurity. However this doesn't always work and sometimes it cannot recover filenames. It is not the most user friendly tool but it is free. Definitely read the documentation before you choose to use it or not. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. I am checking it out as we speak but I can't make out which one it would be as it is bringing up a few deleted partitions. Perhaps others with the same unit as mine can run the program on their G73JW-A1's scanning their drive and compare with what I see on my screen. I don't recall how big the recovery partition was in the first place.

For now there is a bright side as I did manage to get the system running again. All I did was burn a Windows Home Premium 64-bit disc and activated off of the key on the bottom of the unit with the phone system. From there I have loaded my apps & drivers disc ASUS provided and the machine is like new. Since I managed to do this perhaps it may not be necessary to have the recovery partition back?

I also wanted to throw this out to the masses. This unit I have noticed has a popping noise in the sound. People have suggested uninstalling HD sound drivers (Nvidia) and or webcam drivers to even Realtek replacement. What should I do as this is not acceptable.

Ask a windows disk from a friend and then use the laptop key, and grab the drivers from the asus site.
