    I notice that most asus laptops from newegg including the JH and JW-A1 and g53JW are all 2 years warranty and 1 yr accidental

    But why is the G73JW-XN1 on newegg showing only 1 year warranty instead of 2 yrs? is this a typo? if not then why would Asus or Newegg subsidized or try to water down the warranty by 1 year?

    The "X" units tend to be downgraded and cheaper, so I assume in order to get it cheaper, the warranty is slashed in half too.

    You could always add newegg warranties, which are pretty cheap or even one with squaretrade.
