I use a mouse more than the touchpad but when i click fn+F9 to disable the pad it only disables the pad and not the buttons. Can the buttons be disabled too.

Alternatively, you could enable the double tap in upper left corner of the touchpad to disable from the touchpad settings..

I'm not sure if its in every driver version but i'm running 15.3.13 (23Jun11) and I have the aforementioned setting under Tapping>setting>top left action

So either do what Josea suggested i.e turn on disable touchpad when mouse plugged in

    or

enable the double tap to disable. Control panel>mouse>Device Settings>Select Syn touchpad v7.2>settings>Tapping>setting(cog icon)>top left actionp

    or

just disable the button and forger about em till you need em..
just select synaptic buttons and disable from the device setting tab of mouse properties in control panel as described above.

I've go this to happen now, for some reason the touchpad would not disable because i had my external mouse connected to a usb hub, when i plugged the mouse directly into the g73 usb port it all disabled.
