    Hello

I ve just made furmark stability test on G73 JH without any repasting. computer was placed on colling pad and air ventilation cleaned with air - ONLY -results are positively shocking me- after about 15 minuts temperature is about 60-62 deg C and it is not changing. Iam trying to attach furmark screen but i don't know if i'll do it correctly. what do you think about that

please trust me - i an not cheating - result is true - earlier was 90 deg C max on the same furmark test

p.s. while i am writingthis mail furmark still working (30 min) and temp is stable 62 deg C

I am sorry to disappoint you, but it seems that you are running this test on battery or "maximize battery life " in ATI driver powerplay settings. Your fps is too small for 1280*1024 and you haven't even enabled postFX and exterme burning mode. Cooling pad helps to decrease temps for 5C max.not 28C. Try to run furmark with "maximize performance" powerplay setting.

I think yuou are right, but pleaase look at this link

    http://pcaudio.ath.cx/crap/furmark-1hr.jpg
this is result of Chastity after repasting. in this case temperature is also low and fps is also small. and generally many people are happy because after repasting with IC diamond they heaving furmark temps about 65 70 DegC . Do you think that it is possible to obtain 30degC decrease of temperature only because repasring? it seams impossible for me. So mabe extremly good results after reapsting is also for similar reason like in my case and it is not real decrease?

p.s. i didnt switch anything intentionally.

How much repasting lowers your temps has more to do with how BAD your original paste was rather than what kind of paste (or how you apply it) you use when you repaste it. For example, may people repaste with temps originally over 100c. Repasted they are in the low 80s, a 20c drop. My stock paste happened to be pretty good, 91C, so repasting only brought me down 8c, to 83C.

So to answer your question yes, repasting could lower your temps up 30c, but 20c is more likely, and then only if your temps are over 100c to begin with. Most repasted G73s are in the mid-low 80s. The people who get temps in the 70s live in colder climates, one person joked they lived in an igloo (although there are people who have very cool running G73s like Chastity, and no I don't think she is in error, she knows her stuff way better than I do). Most of the low recorded temps where with the windows open on a cold day. I am going to take my G73 out one day when it is 33F just to see what happens.

I totally understand and agree regarding drop from 100 to 80 degC but for me weird is drop in furmark to 70 - 65 degC . especially in furmark , because it is giving extream load. Regarding Chast result ond other extream low . i belive that she(he) is great specialist but in this case what is reason to show furmark result which should show how important is repasting , when the test is done in diferent condition, and results are incomparable

Chastity has lower fps, because she enabled postFX and extreme burning mode and 8XMSAA in furmark. And honestly 62C is not 77C. Maybe you just ran your test on battery. Normal fps for furmark stability test with postFX and extreme burning mode disabled is ~40Fps. Just rerun your test with AC plugged to your notebook.

You are right and not. I think that you have right with power play settings. I've found it by myself. What you havent right is that i was working on battery- i didn't . my power play settings was correct. - maximum performance while plug in and max batt life - on battery. BUY I WAS WORKING with PLUG IN and i think somehow this mode had switch by itself - or when i turned computer on - on battery, then plugeg in - it was somehow blocked on batery settings

    anywa thanks for help
