Has anyone yet found a way to get the HDDs to work in RAID 0? This would bump up data collection quite a bit without switching out to SDDs... Or is it because of the HM55 Chipset that doesnt accomodate RAID?

There's no RAID controller on the G73JH, however, you could use software RAID.

Rumor has it you cant even software RAID it...the chipset still isnt convinced so it still uses the drives independently. I suppose i could try it...

use windows to do software raid0.
I don't know if home premium can do it though. -
you would recommend professional then?
and looking at the specs for your processor, which is almost identical to mine, im wondering if the core i7 720qm overclocks to 3.2ghz? i thought it was just 2.8 last time i checked...anything you did to squeeze more power out of it? -
there is no such things, software RAID just reads and writes to the HDD in a certain way, there is no way to even prevent that, since it's just a write and read from the hdds, learn about RAID before making those claims, all that hardware RAID does is it has a controller with a processor on it and a firmware that does it for you (transforms a simple read or write to specific RAID ones )

Chill my brotha. Im just repeating what ive read on other sites. Forums are a place to learn man. If youre going to rail on people, then i suggest you dont post at all. But thanks for the minor help.

The HM55 does not support RAID on the Southbridge. We'd need the HM57 chipset for that.
My suggestion would be to invest in a SSD or a Momentus XT.
