Not much you can do about that. If you realy want cpu speed improvement then Upgrade to XM cpu will open you for that plus you will get boost in base clocks.

Done that, it's also linked in the old thread.
I think it's actually my memory that freaks out, it looks as if the memory also gets overclocked by setfsb. And 700 MHz for my 667 MHz memory is already quite high.
In any case, in my test scenario The Elder Scrolls online, an increase of the FSB from 139 -> 154 did not result in a single higher fps. It was 24 with 139 and remained 24 fps with 154. :(

Likely due to being GPU bound rather than CPU bound. GPU performance has increased far more than CPU performance since your notebook launched.

Absolutely true. I was just wondering if the 1.6 GHz is limiting the GPU or not, but it looks like it didn't (in TESO). Ah to bad, but still interesting to see that overclocking is working :)

Can you get anything more out of your gpu? If you are looking for fps that is where to start.

GPU brings driver errors after around 8-10% overclock. Temps aren't a problem though, they are far under 80°C. I guess the time (once Witcher 3 is out) has come for a new machine.

The machine had a decent life at least, a higher overclock would require more voltage.

Absolutely true. It's now over 4 and a half year old since I bought it and I still use it for current games (albeit with slightly reduced resolution and details) :)

The 980M should have a similar life I think, as will the 680M (of course it's further through it at the moment).

I know, but all of them are the launch cards or their generation.
