I have the G73SW-A1 laptop and while it performs great, I have not been able to fully utilize it. Most of the games I play are on Steam. The problem is, whenever I install Steam, the keyboard backlight stops functioning. I can reinstall the drivers and that does not seem to help. The only thing that works is to perform a system restore prior to the installation of Steam. I should not have to sacrifice that functionality just to play games on this computer. Any suggestions?

Stock OS. I have not really done much with this laptop other than surf on the internet and install some games from gog.com
This problem confuses me as well. Asus tech support was worthless and told me to contact Valve. I don't see how it is a software problem.
