This doesn't happen quite often, but every once in a while (like once a month or so), I get this kind of pink pixel flickering everywhere on my whole screen by all the sudden, the laptop then freezes, and the only way I can get rid of this is to force shutdown. The weird thing though is, it seems like 80% of the time happens when I watch video on youtube. In general, the pink dots only occur during web browsing. I'm pretty sure the laptop isn't overheating at all, because I always have temps monitored in the background. So I wanted to ask all of you, is this a well known issue, or is it just me having this problem?

Weird. Right click on the youtube video and select settings and turn off Hardware Acceleration and see if that stops it happening.

If it is fine when gaming it could be the GPU having a mare at something codec related if it only happens when running videos.

Some of the recent NVIDIA drivers (296.10 WHQL and 301.24 BETA) have reported "pink screen" issues during YouTube video play.

If you are running either of these versions, I recommend backrevving to 285.62 (or if you want to try something more recent), 295.73. Be sure to perform a "Custom Install" and check the "Clean Install" checkbox to completely remove the problematic driver during the backrev installation.

Yep - I've had this issue with the newer drivers. Reinstalling them fixed the problem for me.

It's not just youtube play. I've had pink screen too with recent drivers and I never go to youtube.

If you reinstall the same version driver by choosing "Custom Install" and checking the "Clean Install" checkbox (maybe even booting into Safe Mode first to eliminate interference from other 3rd party drivers - like antivirus drivers), does it resolve your issue?

I've been suspicious that corrupt installations of the video driver may be responsible for many video issues.
