Hi guys, so I just got my g73 and it's nearly flawless but the screen randomly flickers for a split second and it's extremely annoying. I the GTX 460M and tried the drivers from the offficial site and from the asus site. No luck. I believe it doesn't flicker when I don't have any drivers installed.

Try geforce verde 270.51 beta driver.
SW-owner reported, the flickering was gone.

I can confirm that this is the case for me too. The screen does a quick flicker when browsing the web or doing simple tasks. I just got this laptop a few days ago, did a fresh install of windows, latest drivers for everything. No idea what the problem is.

Yup, I'm grateful nvidia got on top of it and fixed it. AFAIK, it was mainly a G73 problem, so its cool nvidia took care of it versus just blaming asus and not fixing.

The flickering is also non-exitant in Asus drivers (eg: 267.21)

I am also having this flickering problem with my web browsers on my ASUS G74SX-NH71 Notebook, will the "NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.51 BETA" work with the ASUS G74SX-NH71 Notebook? If not, which driver should I update to for my ASUS G74SX-NH71 Notebook?

Hi, @jbaroosh - you've latched onto a thread that's a little dated, about a year old. If I were in your situation, I'd try updating to the NVIDIA 296.16 driver.

However, before doing that, tell us more about your flickering issue. Does it occur as horizontal lines moving on dark backgrounds everywhere (in browser, apps, and on desktop), when at low brightness levels OR only in your Browser?

Is it similar to the issue described in http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...kgrounds-and-low-brightness)&country=&status= ?

My flickering seems to happen when I'm in the browser at the top where the tabs and URL are. The actual webpage doesn't flicker, but the top of the browser flickers and loses its color, then eventually goes back to normal. It happens completely randomly.

I typed in the NVIDIA 296.16 driver on the NVIDIA site's search box and found nothing. Where can I find the link to download the driver?

Interesting issue. Are you losing the Aero Glass effect? What Browser are you using? Do you see this in other windows as well as the Taskbar?

Unless it's a typo, ASUS is currently Q/A testing 296.16 and has not yet released it. See Nvidia GeForce driver update: 296.16

You can wait or choose to download the notebook version of 296.10 at What's New - GeForce

SInce you've reported video issues, I recommend booting into Safe Mode to install this driver. Choose "Custom Install" and then check the "Clean Install" checkbox to remove your current NVIDIA driver.

I seem to be losing the Aero Glass effect, what happens is from the tabs to the url bar, that top area goes black for a split second, then back to normal, then flickers again.

I just installed the 296.10 driver, so I will let you know if the flickering continues.

Edit 4/14/2012: I think the flickering has stopped, thanks so much for the help! :)
