    Hi guys.

I recently replaced a dc jack on a G73SW. Looks like this one

NEW Asus G73 G73S G73SW G73W AC DC Jack Power Plug Port Motherboard Input Socket | eBay

It was a little bit of a pain to desolder (I got it off pretty easily but trying to use the desolder pump and braid to remove the remaining solder was near impossible for me).

I got the other jack on, and it does work, BUT, I have to plug the jack side in first, then the power adapter to an outlet.

If i plug the adapter into an outlook, then into the jack, it works but it has a small spark. I removed the dc jack and resoldered it on and am getting the same problem. Any idea if this would be due to a faulty dc jack, or, (HOPEFULLY NOT!), something on the mobo?

Really hoping to get this fixed soon, THANKS!

EDIT: Also, I ordered another dc jack that looks more like the original with a yellowish pin, a tad smaller, and it looks like its pushed in further. I read a guide here and the guy used the one in the link above, so i don't think thats the problem, though =/
