This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    G73SW-A1 qestion

    I just purchase this laptop as a refurbished unit. I noticed that there wasn't a Driver or Utility CD included. When I contacted ASUS support, they said that these disks weren't inclded with this laptop. Does anyone know if this is correct or is it because I purchased a refurbished unit.

    I haven't turned it on yet as I am waiting for a MacAfee Virus protection disk to arrive before I set it up and go onto the Internet.

    Asus normally includes a Drivers/Utilities disk with their G series computers. They never included a Windows disc. They have started to not include a drivers disc with some of their computers, usually 14.1" or 13.3" versions. I havent heard of them not coming with the G series but since this was a refurb that could be the reason why. You can still go to Asus's website and they have all the drivers/utilities there to download.

    Thanks for the quick response. I will visit the download link when I get back as I am away this weekend and only had room for my iPad 2 to take with me.
