All G73 and G53 units have 2 HDD compartments.

Thanks for your reply... I have another question..
This specific model comes with the hybrid 500HDD + 4SSD Disk? -
But u need a Hard Drive Caddy or Cage..
Search on googles and here, there are a few options for this.... -

The caddy is necessary or optional? -
WOW, that is a great deal. They must be getting ready for the G74s to come in. I can't believe how cheap that is. I just sold my G73, and I kinda miss it, I may have to pick up one of these!
-
I've been researching the G73SW for a couple months now (going to buy one within a month) and I'd bet that the hard drive that comes with this particular model is not the hybrid.
At this price point they had to have gotten the money from somewhere and I'm betting it's from going with a non-hybrid drive.
That said, this still seems to be the best deal out there for a G73. Up until now I was going to go with Amazon's G73SW-XA1, but now I'm going with this for sure (not to mention I'd rather get it through Newegg than Amazon). -

Now, a last question ^^
Any of these discs:
Newegg.com - Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Newegg.com - Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH120G2K5 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Newegg.com - Kingston SSDNow V+ Series SNVP325-S2B/128GB 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
are NOT compatible with this laptop?
Does this laptop have SATA III ports? -
This laptop has 2 SATA III ports, so you'll be good if you get one. I'm still enjoying my Samsung 470 128gb ssd, if you can find it at $220, it really is one of the best even if it's not popular.

That would be a better choice.. I have this one and let me tell you.. 15 second boot up times are sik!! -
I have a question... Does anyone know if the G73SW-XN2 has the revised gpu without the issues? And if those issues with the overheating, keyboard lights not working, etc have been taken care of? I'm ready to buy one right now!! Confirm for me and I'm in.
-
1) The GPU is a standard one, with 1.5GB memory. No known issues in regards to temps or instability. The one in the G73SW here OC's to 850/1500/1700.
2) Keyboard lights work fine. No known issue with them except for the occasional person needing to reinstall the ATK package to fix.
Anything else? -
I didn't mean GPU, I dunno why I wrote that. I meant is this the revised Sandy Bridge processor? I bought the xn2 today because I need a laptop right away, supposedly Asus will warrant any issues with the pre-fixed ones. O well. The price was irresistible on newegg

I use Nvidia Inspector 1.9.5.5

I have few questions. First about g73 keyboard light. When I press "turn off/on" light bottom the light off on keyboard and blue bottom light, when I press again bottom light on only on blue bottoms, to get light on keyboard again I need press Fn+f4/f3. This is normal? Second question about hdd. Win review showing that hdd is weakest point in this laptop (5.9 score). So if I replace to SSD or faster HDD is increase my working time, or it will be so small that I event not see that? Also I planing work with ANSYS program in this laptop, so faster HHD/SSD make difference in this purpose?
-
1) Yes that is normal.
2) A SSD upgrade should make the system more responsive. Just be wary of filling it up too fast. -

The Intel 510 SSD with a capacity of 120GB is Sata III, which is supported by G73SW. It is for $240 at Newegg.com after rebate.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Many thanks in advance,
