Im pretty certain the Asus will beat out that HP. 560m 128 bit with OC will beat out a 6770 certainly.

They check the contents, and the Geek Squad will see the laptop is restored to factory install. Then they retape it and resell it as new. :)

And if you are Silver Premiere, you have 45 day return policy.

I finally decided to go for the Hp Dv6t....because i do travel with my laptop a fair amount...............Just switched it on...love the screen.....its amazing (1080p) but i miss the B2 Bomber look of the Asus...for all those who read this thread............final conclusion from my side.............The Asus G74 is a great machine...........i will not take anything away from it....a great desktop replacement......just a little heavy.......but ....its a gaming rig after all.....and we all know the bb version is gimped...but people like me who are on a tight budget and can only afford the asus g74 cuase you get a 18 month finance option...should go right ahead with it...........its not a bad machine and the 128 bit card...is more than capable of handling games.....on it......ofcourse the 192 bit would be a bit better........as for me i need to wake up my sleeping beast (Radeon 6770- Just remembered i cant wake the card ...its on dynamic switching --- dam ;) ) To everyone who contributed in this thread...you guys have been great ....Thanks again ...more update as and when i get it :)

I don't know if anyone posted this already as I'm not going to go through the 6 pages of the thread, but I just wanted to let people know that the LCD screen on the best buy model SUCKS, big time. I'm "renting" one from best buy right now (no restocking fees) while I wait for my alienware system to arrive and the contrast on this thing is blown up so high. It was really annoying at first but I have gotten a little used to it. But coming from my g73jh screen to this... it's night and day difference. Just wanted to let everyone know. Not sure if the non-BB models have the same issue or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if a gimped screen was subbed for the BB model as well.

Just noticed this thread, getting new laptops later this month, was originally going to go for two Alienwares, but the wife does not really need one all she uses it for is work and to play Guild Wars and alpha tests a few games..

I noticed this laptop and it would seem to do what she wants, if you don't mind me asking what is the Windows Index results for this laptop? And how does the keyboard feel?

    Thank you for the answers.

After a quick patch of ATK, the keyboard types very well, and has a tactile texture which I like. WEI scores:

    Processor: 7.4
    Memory: 7.6
    Graphics: 7.3 (7.4 with overclock)
HDD: 5.9 (need SSD to get higher)

I would suggest looking at other models other than Best Buy's, since they use a 2GB 560m as opposed to the stock 3GB 560m, and it will reduce performance. (128bit vs 192bit bus) Amazon has the XA1 for $1499 and TigerDirect has their XT1 for the same price.

The A2 model is more $$$ ($1,989.67 @ PCNation) but comes with a 160GB SSD. The 3DE edition has a 120Hz panel + built in emitter + NVIDIA glasses

Thank you Chastity, I will look at the other models you mentioned.. I have to admit though I do like the look of the Asus G laptop's they are very very slick..I saw one at Tiger yesterday for $1199 the one you mentioned XT1 you think that is the one to go for?

    TigerDirect.com | WEM2764 | Core i7 Gamers Choice...

Thank you for the help though.

The XT1 for $1199 is pure win! :) Get one. I would also grab that deal on the OCZ 3 SSD. The extra 4GB RAM would fully populate the memory sockets for Dual Channel performance.

    Hi!
    I bought this PC and I can't play Starcraft2 in EXTREME/ULTRA... :(
Sometimes even when running in HIGH I get the "Your computer is slowing the game" message if there are too many units...

You would expect to be able to run SC2 in ULTRA with
    8GB RAM
    2GB Video (Nvidia560M)
    Intel i7

    What do you suggest????

You would however the 560M is only 128bit it should still be able to handle ultra at reasonable frames but may not like everything on Ultra.

I would say that it is your drivers are you using the latest? The CPU should be able to handle the processing on screen easily.
