The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi guys,

    So, I will be receiving my J73JW somewhat soon and I plan on installing an SSD and doing a fresh install of Windows 7. There's a crapload of advice on these forums in this regard, but a very large portion of it is directed toward the G73JH and I'm not sure how much of it transfers to the JW.

    So my question: are most of the posts pertaining to the G73JH applicable to the G73JW? Also, if there's anything I might easily miss in regards to installing an SSD and doing a clean install, I'd really appreciate it if someone could point it out.

    All the ssd stuff is the same. Only the drivers (for everything else) are different. You should be fine following JH advice on SSDs.
