My G73JH has worked perfectly for two years, and never crashed.
Recently, while surfing normally, I get a BSOD, that says "windows is shutting down to protect your computer/data". It seems to be getting worse, and happens more often. Any ideas.?? No new programs downloaded.
No new software. This is obviously a Windows 7, 64 bit problem, and not an Asus problem. Has anyone had a similar problem.? Every time this happens,
Windows starts back up in the normal mode.??? Help.!!

Run BlueScreenView from Nirsoft and report a) the Bug Check Code, b) the Bug Check Text , c) the 4 parameters, and d) the file listed as the cause to help us troubleshoot the BSOD further.

You may also wish to run a CHKDSK C: /F /R to confirm your file system is sound. This can also be run from the Properties of the disk in Windows Explorer as the "error checking" routine. Be sure to check the option to check for bad blocks. A reboot is required to start the disk check.

The Windows registry also gets bloated after a couple years use. You can run a cleaner utility like CCleaner, or better yet, take the time to perform a clean install of Windows 7.

Checking the Windows System and Application Event Logs for Errors and Warnings can also help point to a troubleshooting direction.

Thank you for taking the time to help with my problem. It is the registry, and I am going to do a clean install of Windows 7, as suggested.
