Must BIOS 211, vBIOS v93 and Catalyst 10.8 or above... people don't read the sticky threads?

You just answered your question from first post. You have thermal shutdown. That's why laptop refuses to launch immediately. You have to repaste your GPU(local service center).

In games let AMD GPU Clock Utility running all the time and set to save the log of your temps. Play in windows mode (not fullscreen) to check the real time before shutdown. If you are unable to play in windows mode, save the log in the Utility, let the shutdown come, and when you restart (after a period to cool down your gpu) read in the log the temps right before the shutdown come.

(I know I'm writing messy, but dude, it's saturday night)

what does your system event log tell you? mine did this once, and right before the shutdown there was a system error. i googled the error, found a solution from last year on the technet forums, applied said solution, and it hasn't shut down since. might want to look into that possibility. sorry i couldn't be more specific; i wiped my logs clean since it happened.

This is clearly a Thermal Shutdown. 109 is too high. Updating bios or vbios will not lower your temps enough to make any difference. Repasting your GPU and CPU with a good TIM through an Asus repair centre would be my recommendation.
