I lost the HDMI cord that came with my laptop so which one should I buy instead? Also, what are the issues with HDMI on the G73?

    Here you go: Monoprice

If you ever pay more than $1/ft for cables you're a sucker.

Not sure what you're doing with HDMI, but I've had no issues here on my G73JH - Especially since Catalyst 10.10 where the scaling/overscan setting stuff was finally fixed.

Not to scare you or anything, but in the past (talking 4 or 6 months ago), connecting your laptop to an external monitor caused a psod for less then 2% of people for some reason. I have no idea if this has been fixed or not.

No significant issues at all, I had some issues with the audio devices (sending audio thru the HDMI but that got fixed after realtek 2.48) but thats about it, and I use the HDMI all the time.

My G73 didnt come with a cable, I feel jipped. Also no problem with the hdmi cable, just a heads up, if you get a border around your image on your external monitor, turn on overscan. I though this thing wasn't out putting properly but then fixed the problem with overscan.

No problems here, I hook mine up to a 54 " TV quite often and it works fine.
And go online to Tiger Direct or NewEgg and get an HDMI cable , and do not buy one the real costly ones as it will not make anything better, but it will drain your bank account!
Just look and try to get the latest rated cable , 1.3 or 1.4 not sure what the latest one is now. Either one of those will be fine to use.
If you do not already know the newest rated HDMI cable will carry network data , but so far I have not found anything that will use that. But at least you will be able to use the cable on any new HDMI fitted items that you might buy in the future, I do know that there are still some of the 1.+ cables that are on the market that will not fully support the newer HDMI data. So just make sure that you get the later ones if you can.
