I just noticed last night that the '+' key on the numberpad of my G73 is coming off it's clips. While I don't regularly use this key, I'd rather it not fall off and get lost. As near as I can tell the top part of the key has come undone from it's clip, while the bottom remains attached.

I'm wary of just tearing the key out and popping it back in, but is it that simple?

Yes, but it still doesn't show how to take apart/put back together the key. Thanks for the link, though.

As for buying a whole new keyboard, I don't really think this is worth that.

You can usually get the key back on there if you push it down a bit harder than you normally would. If the scissors are broken, or if one of the tabs is broken on the scissors, or if one of the clips that holds the tabs on the scissors is broken, you're out of luck.

Here's a link to a video that I used when I replaced a couple of keys on my keyboard.

Yeah, I tried just pressing it back in. Watching Chet's video it seems to me like it's come off the top part of the clip.

When you replaced the keys, how did you take them off? I don't want to break something when I pull it off.

Taking the keys off was not a problem since the problem I was having was a key that kept popping off. There was a broken tab on the top part of the hinge on my ctrl key. The other key I broke :( trying to pop it off so that I could see how things were put together. I ordered the new keys and hinges, put the hinges in the appropriate place, popped the new keys in place and have lived happily ever after.

See, that's what I'm worried about. Maybe I'll just leave it...
