I had opened up my notebook to lap+re-repaste the cpu and gpu (results posted in g73 thermal paste thread)
Ever since then when i shutdown/sleep/hibernate my notebook and its plugged into AC power instead of normally only the battery/charge indicator LED being on, i have the batter/charge,HDD,caps and num lock, and all three left button LEDs on.
The computer is shut down for sure, only these extra LEDs staying powered now... they switch off if i take out the AC adaptor.

Also, i dont know if this used to happen before, but now if i plug in the battery(in an off-state) then both the fans momentarily spin up and optical drive clicks

I cant figure out whats causing this led problem, i tried reseating the ribbon cables for the respective light boards but no good...
I could understand if the HDD was on along with battery/charge as they have the same connector but i dont get how the others are on, they have completely different connectors of a different part of the mobo..

Btw all lights work fine when its powered on.

Did you check the LED ribbon cables itself? Their metal plates must have bent when you put it back it. If it did, smoothen them out then place them back carefully.

Well i cleaned one of the cables with alcohol(the 3 buttons and locks indicators one) that fixed those lights
and the as for the front led cable light, some of the plates were bent and separated so fixed that and front leds working fine now..
only thing not working is the stealth mode button, but i'll live with that, atleast till my OCD kicks in...

Woah, just got a "amd driver stopped working and has recovered" while typing this for the very first time... it cant be related to me messing with the led cables, can it??
