    Hey,

While I was typing, suddenly red vertical lines appeared on the whole screen. The lines were sensible to movement of the screen and typing. I dont observe any lines when I connect it to an external display. I am using vbios v93, 10.12 drivers and bios 211, its definitely not a gsod, the temperatures were normal also.

I've repasted like 1-1.5 months ago, so I disassembled the notebook and replugged the cable. It's been 5 mins and it seems fine just for now.

What shall I do if it repeats? I don't know how the Asus Service in Turkey will respond as I've disassembled it (cpu is untouched but they may say that its out of warranty). Will just buying a new lcd do it?

Any responses or other suggestions will be appreciated, thanks.

I had this when playing zombie driver on the old vbios. At first, I considered it a GSOD because it didn't occur with the new vbios - but it wasn't like any GSOD I'd seen elsewhere, so I now think that it was just a driver thing.

    Also, I've had problems with 10.12 - try 10.10e.

I forgot to mention that after I restarted the notebook, I moved the screen up and down on the booting screen and it appeared again. also on the next restarts it was there from the first Asus display. Thanks anyway :)

It sounds like you may already know the answer, but it's likely the LVDS cable for the display. You may need to reseat it or it may be damaged -- hard to know. Good luck.

Also IT may be the PSOD (psychedelic screen of death), hope it's not but if is you will have to RMA it.

    Thx again for the answers.
As I mentioned, I replugged the cable (LVDS one) and so far no issues. I hope its not that PSOD :)

I've experienced this vertical lines just the way emreowski had it.

but now it's gone, and i haven't reseated anything yet. hope that would be the last of this. :p
