    Hello

Well today Sunday I decided to go out shopping for a nice colling pad for my laptop.

And after ruining temps with out the colling pad I was at 62c to my surprise ones i sited the laptop on his nice new pad I notice no difference in temps!

I am posting a picture of the under-need of the G73 for reference, could you please point me out from where is the G73 sucking the air?

From all that I can figure, based on people's remarks on this website, and all of my own observations, the fans are sucking air from just about everywhere, top and bottom. I think if you are running the laptop in high ambient temps, the cooling pad may help, but I'm not even sure of that. What temp is 62? The CPU or GPU? Either way I think you are in good shape! :D

Ya, 62C for the CPU or GPU is perfectly normal.

62 gpu my temps are fine, what i am trying to confirm is that is usless to buy a cooling pad since there is no vents for it :(

So all i can do with my pad is give it away lol

Not true. I note a 2.5C drop in temperature with a cooler. Even more if I prop it above the cooler.

Bottom line is as long as there's cool air below the laptop, regardless of air intake, it benefits the laptop.

Under the screen, above the speakers (top side).
Flash with a battery when the screen is open and you should see it.

Methinks the (one of the) air intakes is behind the base of the LCD. That strip of rubber (just above the exhausts) gets dusty pretty quick, and I'm guessing due to frequent air movement.

Thats what i said.. under the LCD. Its not really sucking in much from anywhere else. You might benefit a bit if you send in fresh air through the bottom holes (the holes on the removable bottom panel), since the gpu is also under there (the heatsink you can see by removing that panel is the gpu heatsink).

Numbers 1,2 and 3. Number 4 is subwoofer. If you will do small tissue test you will notice that air is benn taking from 1 and 2.

I wouldn't say the cooling pas is useless, other NBR users have reported lower temps. However since the vents are located under the screen (right behind the blue led, if you look carefully with a flashlight you can see them and even a bit of the heatsinks), it will be less efficient than it would be if the air intakes were under the notebook. The extra air under will help improve heat transfer none the less.

Not if they get plugged up due to lap, bedsheets. . and not if the angle of the exhaust on the desk causes hot air to recirculate back into the intake [which I've seen happen once or twice]

I've done tests on the other side, pointing a small desk fan at the keyboard with air flowing towards the screen. It's not a weak fan, but somehow my temps aren't really affected by it either. Just something to think about/try yourself ^^
