My ASUS notebook worked pretty well for a month, but on Wednesday, after work about an hour after I powered it on, I noticed a loud feedback noise when I tried to raise the volume or close the lid. Disabling the microphone didn't help. However I noticed by leaning the notebook from one side to the other that that there is something inside, loose, that is moving on the area where the microphone is. Is that even normal? Could a loose microphone be causing the noise?
Things got worse after moving the notebook around, I noticed that I was getting random disconnections from my wifi network, and later I had 2 BSOD STOP errors DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with references to the wifi driver athrx.sys.
Any suggestions?

You didn't specify what notebook you have...

edit - not sure if it will help, but the common bsod i've heard are from kernel level issues from windows 7 updates. I doubt the fix in my sig would help you but if you want to try it, save a restore point first. -

is that your sound issue? -
No, the sound it makes is that really loud sound you get when you put a microphone next to a speaker.
Like the one on this video.

I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with the microphone, it is loose or broken and does not power off. And I will need to figure out what to do now. -
I'd RMA, it sounds like one of the antenna in the lid somehow came loose and is rubbing up against the mic. That or the mic itself is just fubar'd beyond anything you can do to fix it...
