Hello, I have an ASUS g73jh, everything has been running pretty smooth, but now when I start the laptop, it freezes just after loading the OS. I am currently running in Safe Mode and it works fine but once I start it normally it freezes again. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this, or what might have caused this?
Thanks in advance to any suggestions.

Do you have Creative installed? Try removing it and see what happens.

Update your Realtek Audio Drivers.

Both suggestions above are good, if they do not resolve this link may help
MSCONFIG : The System Configuration Tool
I would start here: "Startup This list provides ...." disable everything, reboot, then enable one program at a time help isolate the issue.
Also have you run any scans in safe mode with anti virus and/or malware detector? -
also be aware that the freezing problem is kinda related to this machine
i am not receiving freezing at all but if i unplug the laptop from plug then when i start the machine up sometimes it freezes so to fix this i need to shut down properly (probably messes something with the creative and realtek drivers)
do as the above post described and when this problem occurs to you that i have described it don't worry it happens very rarelly ot not at all if you shut down your machine properly every time -
You can also use System restore to roll back to a point where it was working, and also try msconfig to disable startup items, and enable one at a time to see what is causing the hang, if needed.

Ok sorry for the late replies I was out of town. As for the freezing, it was just the realtek driver's that needed to be updated, but now I have a problem with the screen glitching and flickering when playing video's/games. I have the latest bios I believe 213. It seems every time I fix something, another problem arises.
Thanks for any input.

The easy question, is your vbios up to date?

To check if you have the latest vbios, download the HWiNFO64 tool, check on your Video Adapter and see if your vbios version is something like 012.020.000.032.xxxxxx
-
Video BIOS Version: 012.017.000.004.xxxxxx
I just need to update my vbios then? Is there any easier way than putting it on a flash drive and doing it through the bios? -
There is a guide in the sticky in the asus gaming forum. You can also use this video guide: G73Jh GSOD Vbios Update.
