So I am an idiot and about a month ago I spilled beer on my beautiful laptop. It worked fine for a day or so, but then some keys stopped working. This was awful (and I admit I did something stupid here), so I bought a USB keyboard since my laptop keyboard was essentially done (I plan on replacing the laptop keyboard in the future but as an interim solution the plug-in works fine). My computer functioned more as a desktop anyways so it wasn't the biggest problem.

HOWEVER, some keys like to press themselves of their own free will. Namely the "-" key. This is incredibly annoying as I frequently have to go back and delete all the extraneous "-" that have inserted themselves into what I am writing. Is there a way to disable the keyboard on this machine? When I try the conventional way of going Control Panels-> Keyboard -> Keyboard device filter, the "Disable" button is greyed out.

So are there any ways to disable the laptop keyboard on the G73jh?
For reference, the only problem I have with my computer is the keyboard.

I'd buy a new keyboard and rip that one out of there in the meantime. I posted generic instructions that reference the G73 disassembly guide here.

There's no way to disable the internal keyboard in the BIOS if that's what you were asking.

Yeah, any G-series keyboard should do. Get it from ebay, save yourself $80 or so getting it from asus.
