    Hi. I bought a G73jh-a2 from a myasustlaptop.com. Bad IDEA.
14 days later it died on me. I got the Psychedelic screen of death and the grey screen of death.

So I RMAed it 10 days later get it back. only to find out that now the LCD screen can only support up to 1600x900 resolution. So i suspect the idiot fixing my comp just threw on lower quality screen.

Any suggestions on what course of action I should take.

Anyone know what screen the g73jh-a2 is suppose to have ie. model#?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    My A1 has a Hannstar HSD06A5.

Double-click the monitor in the device manager, go to the "Details" tab, and look at the "Hardware ids" property to see what monitor you have.

Your unit should have a FullHD 1080p screen. Call Asus and let them know of their foul-up. They'll probably RMA it again to swap the screen. Probably quicker to use an ASP location, and have Asus ship them the new panel.

according to my hardware id it says AUO139E. You would almost think they were trying to slip one by me.

I bet a lot of people would not check that.

There are a few other cases noted on these forums. Particularly from people who had their notebooks sent to Indiana. Indiana repair center is starting to become a horror story of itself. That repair center have sent units scratched, notebook put together messily, and wrong screens put in. The techs there should be fired.
