I've had a g73jh for about 2 years now (got it from newegg when it was first released) and recently it's been having heating issues while playing demanding games but kept fairly cool when not. However I was just on the internet last night and it stopped working out of the blue!? Should I take it apart and look at it? I have basically no experience with laptops but I've been looking at videos for replacing the thermal paste... thanks in advance!

Can you elaborate further? When you say "it stopped working out of the blue", does it mean shut down and unable to restart again?

Can your computer run POST? That's the screen when it will display a bunch of seemingly complicated numbers representing the amount of memory and the BIOS. If it doesn't even turn on, then you may need to contact ASUS customer support, and have them swap out either the motherboard, GPU, or CPU.

Before the laptop became inoperable, were you experiencing some overheating issue? Overheating issue was quite common on the G73jh with the ATI mobility radeon cards.

Ya it doesn't turn on at all. I suppose it's possible one of those three could've fried but my warranty was only for a year and asus has pretty bad customer service anyways. I wonder if I could take it in to some computer repair place? I wonder how much that would cost...

Update: took it to a nearby computer repair place and it works after they blew out a ton of dust...lol. But it still idles at around 60 celcius so I might have them redo the thermal paste.
