    G73jh won't boot

    Bought a g73jh and it just arrived yesterday. Went to power it on today and:


    • fans and hard drive started
      blank screen
      non-keyboard buttons light
      keyboard doesn't light
      caps and num lock are stuck on
      nothing happens

    Eventually when i turned the power on it would power off after about 5 secs. removed the battery and it's returned to the first set of problems.

    Any help please? I've had the laptop for less than 24 hours! Thank you.

    kaeruthefrog, Sorry to hear that, It sound like you have tried on AC power and battery. There is a way to reset the CMOS. on the underside of the computer on the far left side (opposite the ASUS stickers) you can insert a paper clip and hold for about 15 seconds. Remove the clip and try to power up again. Good luck Josea

    I've tried it with AC, with battery, and with both. I've also tried the reset button. No luck.

    What's the RMA process like? Right now I'm heavily in favor of just returning it to Amazon for a refund and choosing a different laptop.

    you can check the underside and on the left is the reset button. make sure no wires are caught on it and pressing it down
