Ok, so I bought my Asus G73jh from Best Buy about a year and a half ago with what I thought had 4GB of RAM installed. I recently ordered a 2GB stick to add to the 3rd slot that is accessible through the panel underneath the laptop. Now, I am aware that there is a fourth slot that is hidden under the keyboard and is not accessible without taking the laptop apart. The point being that I thought that slot was empty as my computer has always reported having 4GB of RAM, both 2GB sticks located under the easy-access panel. However, since I've added this additional 2GB stick and my computer was still reporting only having 4GB, I thought I'd investigate. So I check CPU-Z and it tells me I have a 2GB stick in each of the four slots totaling 8GB of RAM. Though, Windows is still only reporting 4GB.

    What is going on?

It's a bug. You have to take your laptop apart, reset all the ram, reset the power, just hold down the power button for 30 seconds, put the ram back in. Have to take it apart because you have to reset the laptop with the ram that's under the keyboard removed. This is a really old and known bug. Discovered since G73jh been released.

    Should be fine then.

Ahhh thanks! Can you link me to some instructions or go into more detail about what exactly I need to do?

Should I take out all of the sticks, hold the power button for 30 seconds and then put them back in?
