I have read others posts on the turbo button (middle button of top left 3 buttons), the Asus power4gear program, and the Intel turbo feature(?) I am confused on what should be activated and what shouldn't, and how to activate the features. I believe people have been posting that having the Intel and Asus turbo features on at the same time causes conflicts? What kind of conflicts?

I am a graphics designer and need the higher performance for rendering and running multiple programs at the same time. I don't do any gaming, so what would the best settings be?

Also, is it possible to upgrade the CPU in this laptop?

Don't activate the TwinTurbo mode (the middle button), Intel TurboBoost is automatic. You can monitor how it turbos by installing Intel TurboBoost Monitor (Latest version is 2.0), which can be found on Intel's site (or easily via Google).

As for which P4G profile to use, I suggest High Performance when you're rendering. Also, I'd look at the stickied thread and look at the unparked cores thread so the CPU cores don't get parked when you're rendering.
