isn't it backwards compatible? Check your drivers.
I have a Gigabyte (or GIGABYTE) motherboard and it has 3 3.0 usb ports and they work fine. -
What USB 3.0 device are you using guys?

But i'm thinking getting rid of my 2.5''' 1tb and trading it for a usb 3.0 one... when they come out. -

I am just trying to use the usb 3.0 port with my 2.0 devices but so far next to none work. The ipod touch says that the device gives an invalid response. My soundcard just trys to reinstall drivers and my usb tv tuner wont show picture and has crashed the computer. So backward compatable it is not at the moment. There is only 1 driver available by "Fresco" available.

is this what they call "early adopters syndrome"

Problem is now solved. There is a bios setting for the usb 3.0. I guess I don't get to use as a 3.0 port but now it works. Here is a little G73GH vs GW speed comparison. On both I Installed a ssd and transfered my 200+gb music file from a 320gb usb hd. Same Seagate model as the 500gb it was copied to in both G73 models. The G73JH transfered the file at average 24mbs and the G73JW at an average of 34mbs.
