I heard about this new 3D feature in the GTX 460M coming with this laptop. I don't understand what it does. All I got is the only way to take advantage of this is if you have a 3D TV, then you can game in 3D on the TV. Is that it?
Other than that it seems that it comes with a better processor (740QM). All for a $100 more. Once I get more info on the benchmark for the GTX 460M, this laptop might be a better buy if we can avoid all the GSOD risks with the G73jh model?

I think that the laptop only offers 3D output and the screen is not 3D. So if I am reading the sites that are selling this correctly, you need a 3D TV in order to have 3D. If you wnat 3D on our laptop, looks like the Toshiba Qosmio X500 line is the best bet.

If Asus advertises a laptop with the 3D feature, it means that their laptop screens are able to produce a refresh rate of 120Hz and have a GPU that is 3D Vision ready which is required for 3D gaming and other multimedia. This means that you're able to play games in 3D directly on your laptop and if you have a HDTV or monitor that supports 120Hz, it can also be played on those screens too.

It's all about HDMI 1.4 that it can output 3D to your 120Hz HDTV. with HDMI 1.3 you are not able to play 3D Blu-Ray movies or 3D games on your TV.

That's what I would like to believe, but based on the "configure-it" pages I have seen for the JW on the sites selling pre-orders, I don't think that is the case. It seems that the only 3D option is an external 3D TV, which honestly almost NOBODY has anyway. I could be wrong here, and quite honestly I hope I am, but don't you think that if the laptop was fully capable of 3D and came with a 120 Hz refresh rate that it would SAY SO on that page and not make such a big deal about the "3D output?"

Yeah plus you would think that the price would be a bit higher with a 3D screen. It's only a $100 more than the G73jh plus it has a better processor: 740QM (vs 720QM).
